ERIE, Pa. – The Mercyhurst College men's soccer team suffered its first loss of the season Saturday, bowing to visiting Urbana 1-0. Urbana's Evan Burkholder netted the game-winner 30 minutes into the second half.
Urbana improved to 2-3-0 on the season, with wins over Ohio Valley University and Mercyhurst. The loss ended Mercyhurst's five-game win streak and dropped the Lakers to 5-1-0 on the year.

The Lakers got their next scoring chance in the second half when senior
Billy Colton got by the defense and headed a ball toward the net, but Darragh McGinley of Urbana was there to make the save.
Moments later Burkholder raced toward the Mercyhurst goal and capitalized on the breakaway. With just 11 minutes to play junior
Austin Solomon shot at an open net from the edge of the box, but the shot sailed high over the crossbar.
The Last time the Lakers were held scoreless was in the first round of the 2010 NCAA playoffs when West Virginia Wesleyan upset the Lakers, 1-0.
Mercyhurst attempted 10 shots to the Blue Knights one in the first half, putting four on goal.
For the game, Mercyhurst held a 22-5 edge in total shots.
Urbana's Darragh McGinley made nine saves for the win, while junior
Diego Gustin recorded one stop for Mercyhurst.
The Lakers will play their next four games at home. They start the sequence against PSAC West-rival Slippery Rock University at 4 p.m Wednesday, the 21st. Slippery Rock defeated Mercyhurst 4-3 in their only meeting last season.
