DISTRICT OF COLUMBIA - The Mercyhurst College women's water polo team closed out play at the 2011 George Washington Invitational with a 12-4 loss to the host Colonials on Sunday afternon at Charles E. Smith Pool.
Behind a 4-0 second quarter, the Colonials turned aside the Lakers (9-7) after they had pulled within a goal, at 3-2, in the first. GW then held a 4-1 advantage in the third before both teams traded scores in the fourth.

Hope Rozelle made eight saves in falling to 9-7 on the season.
Mercyhurst stays local for its next games as the Lakers take on three opponents at the 2011 Grove City Invitational on Saturday, Apr. 2 in Grove City, Pa.
