ERIE, Pa.- The Mercyhurst men's water polo team won, 13-3, at Penn State Behrend and then beat Salem International, 12-7, at home Saturday. The Lakers improved to 9-4 with the wins.
At Behrend, Hurst jumped out to a 6-0 lead after one period, as
Brett Luehmann scored twice. The Lakers held a 9-2 edge at halftime, allowing Coach
Curtis Robinette to use his bench in the second half. Ten different players scored, with Luehmann recording four goals to lead the way.
Matt Cote made 17 saves in goal, also assisting on three scores.
In the nightcap against Salem, the Lakers were led by
Cris Anton and
Garrett George, who each scored two goals.
Mercyhurst travels to Notre Dame College tomorrow for a 4 p.m. match with the Falcons.
