Biography

2019 Season:
Appeared in all 11 games.  He finished the season going 154-262 for 1893 yards with 16 touchdowns.  On the ground he chipped in 42 carries for 59 yards and a td.  Altavilla set the Mercyhurst all-time passing record against Shepherd (9/14).  He had four games with over 200 yards passing, including a season high 312 in the Lakers matchup with crosstown foe Gannon completing 15 of 20 throws with a pair of touchdowns. 

2018 Season:
Appeared in all 11 games. Finishing the season with 1715 yards and 13 touchdown on 146-263 through the air leading to a 117.5 passing efficiency. On the ground he 65 times for 54 yards and three touchdowns. Against Edinboro (10/6) he threw for 224 and two touchdowns on 15-17 passing, in addition to rushing for 46 yards.

2017 Season: Starting quarterback played in all 11 games this season and concluded with a pass efficiency of 123.67 and a completion percentage of 58.2 for 2,345 yards throughout the year, which lead to 15 touchdowns... Recorded his best against Slippery Rock where he finished 26 of 40 for 326 yards and two touchdowns, in addition to running a touchdown... In the win against Seton Hill, Altavilla completed 12 of 20 passes and threw 3 touchdown passes... Finished the season against Lock Haven, where he completed 11 of 19 passes and threw 2 touchdowns.
 
2016 Season: Starting quarterback played in 11 games this season with a pass efficiency of 130.20 for 2,334 yards throughout the year leading to 19 touchdowns... Led team to overcome Kutztown and engineered a 12-play, 61-yard touchdown drive that resulted in a change of momentum for the Lakers, which would eventually lead to a crucial touchdown in favor of Mercyhurst... Altavilla finished 16 of 28 for 108 against Kutztown and Lakers won the matchup... Gained a total of 406 yards, completed 27 of 57 passes, and was only intercepted three times against Seton Hill... Ended the season against Lock Haven and completed 18 of 22 passes for 243 yards, then tallying two touchdowns which contributed to 49-14 win.

2015 Season:
Sat out his redshirt season. 

High School: Played football at Baldwin High School...was a First Team All-Conference selection and was a Fabulous 22 member...all-time leading passer in school history.

 Personal: Born June 18, 1997...major is undecided...son of Kelly and Doug...has two siblings - Nick and Morgan...cousin is Dan Altavilla, who was the highest Major League Baseball draft pick in Mercyhurst's history when he was selected in the 5th round (151st overall) by the Seattle Mariners in June of 2014.
