PENNSAUKEN, N.J. – The Mercyhurst rowing teams had a successful outing at the Dad Vail Regatta.

"I think the weekend was a successful one. Three of the four men's boats brought home medals and the eight had a great race to end the season," head coach
Jonathan Rost said. "We are faster than we were last year and gained experience to carry into next year. Â Now we shift our focus to a heavy and lightweight four for IRAs at the end of the month." Â

The men's squad had three boats place at the event. The men's varsity four came in second in the grand final with a time of 6:38.67 behind Drexel.
Dylan McLean,
Juan Pablo Gonzalez,
Liam Wise,
Brayden Pinkham, and Tristan Chang made up the second place team.

The men's varsity pair and the men's second varsity four boats both place third in their respective events. The varsity pair of
Joshua Cole and
Cole Bardeschewski posted a time of 7:39.74.

The second varsity four of Kai Deleon,
Levi Mathieson,
Anthony DePinto,
Benjamin Kennedy, and
Oliver Stover posted a time of 6:52.46.

The men's varsity eight boat placed fourth, crossing the finish line in 5:58.12.

"One the women's side we were able to enter more boats than last year which shows the depth we've been able to build," Rost said. "They raced well and closed the gap on teams that we saw earlier in the season. It was a successful year and we're ending one a positive note that will carry us into the 26-27 campaign."Â

The women's second varsity four finished first in front of UAlbany, Robert Morris, and Carnegie Mellon with a time of 8:49.10. The Lakers boat was manned by
Ava Duarte,
Jordane Hynes,
Ella Luther,
Cecilia Linkel, and
Erica Schneiderman.

The women's varsity two recorded a time of 9:33.17 to finish behind Tampa.

Meredith Fastinger competed in the women's varsity 1x, posting a time of 9:45.83 to finish in third.

The women's varsity four boat of
Madie Taylor,
Ava Spagnolli,
Tabea Wieland,
Charlotte Paschke, and
Thea Felsner finished in 8:11.85 to place fifth.
