Marietta, OH -- The Mercyhurst rowing team opened up their spring season at the Marietta Invitational Saturday, racing against opponents Milwaukee School of Engineering, Wisconsin, Dayton and Marietta. 

Round one on the men's side included three varsity eight races. The first Mercyhurst varsity eight came in with a time of 5:34.7. The second Laker crew raced a time of 5:34.6.

Round two found the Lakers' varsity eights coming in with times of 5:41.6 and 6:00.5. The varsity four came in with a time of 6:43.3.

The women's side included a second place finish in both the women's varsity eights and the women's varsity fours with a time of 6:23.95 in the varsity eights and 7:22.40 in the varsity fours. 

In the women's varsity eight final, the Lakers found a second place finish with a time of 6:29.15.

Last to hit the start line was the women's varsity four final where the Lakers finished second place with a time of 7:19.47.

The Lakers will hit the water again Saturday March 28 as the men's lightweight team races at the Collegiate Lightweight Invite.
