Men's Lacrosse Hosts Canisius Tuesday

The Mercyhurst men's lacrosse team will host Canisius Tuesday afternoon in a non-conference matchup.

Previously from the Lakers
The Lakers most recently met UMass Lowell for their home opener Saturday, February 14. The match went into double overtime where the Lakers ultimately fell 13-14. 

The Watchlist
13 goals were scored on 23 SOG in the matchup against the River Hawks.

Chase Petschke scored four goals and tallied one assist. His five points brought him to a total of 5 goals and 5 assists in the last two games. His performance earned him a spot on the NEC Prime Performer list.

Josh Mills scored three goals on three shots on goal. Mills also picked up one ground ball and caused one turnover.

Ryan Mahoney tallied two goals and one assist against the River Hawks. Mahoney also picked up one ground ball.

Robert Madden, DJ Neer, Darrin Santos, and Mason Blakeman also each picked up a goal. 

Drew Pagano led the team in ground balls picking up six. Behind him was Brenton Paladino who picked up three. Paladino also led the team in caused turnovers with four.

Tyler Moritzen stood in goal for the Lakers, making 13 saves on 27 shots.

Griffin Stevens went 7-18 in the faceoff circle.

  • TJ Buono scored two goals and notched one assist.
  • Peter Biglin led the team in scoring with a hatrick against the Statesmen.
  • Quinn Huber also notched two goals for the Golden Griffins.
  • Tommy Kuntz stood in goal for the Golden Griffins making eight saves.
  • Micah Hanson had 10 face-off wins and six ground balls in the matchup.
The Lakers are 4-2 overall against Canisius.
