ERIE, Pa. – The Mercyhurst men's basketball team, in conjunction with the NEC, announced its full 2025-26 season schedule Tuesday. The Lakers will face a demanding non-conference stretch highlighted by nine road games against Division I programs before opening conference play in January.
The season tips off Nov. 3 as the Lakers travel to Big Ten territory to face Northwestern, followed by a matchup with Loyola Chicago on Nov. 6. Mercyhurst returns home for its season debut at the Mercyhurst Athletic Center on Nov. 8, hosting Penn State New Kensington at 2:00PM.
Three straight road tests follow as the Lakers visit Canisius on Nov. 12, Morgan State on Nov. 15, and Miami (OH) on Nov. 20. The non-conference slate also includes road games at Marshall on Nov. 23, West Virginia on Nov. 30, Lafayette on Dec. 5, Davidson on Dec. 13, and ACC powerhouse Syracuse on Dec. 17. Home non-conference matchups during that stretch include Bethany on Dec. 7 and Binghamton on Dec. 20.
The NEC portion of the schedule gets underway Jan. 2, when the Lakers host FDU at 7:30 PM. Mercyhurst will then embark on a two-game road trip to Long Island (LIU) on Jan. 8 and Wagner on Jan. 10.
The Lakers return home Jan. 17 to battle Stonehill and return Jan. 19 to face Central Connecticut at 2:00 PM, followed by a home contest against Chicago State on Jan. 25. Mercyhurst travels to New Haven on Jan. 23 before welcoming the Chargers back to Erie on Jan. 29 for their first-ever meetings.
A stretch of conference play in February includes home matchups against Saint Francis on Feb. 5, Wagner on Feb. 19, and LIU on Feb. 21. Road contests during this period include FDU on Feb. 7, Le Moyne on Feb. 12, and Saint Francis on Feb. 14.
The regular season wraps up with road games at Central Connecticut on Feb. 26 and Stonehill on Feb. 28, the latter set for a 2:00 PM start.
