ERIE, Pa. — The Mercyhurst men's basketball program capped off another memorable Homecoming weekend by hosting its third annual Alumni Mentoring Night on Monday evening in the Center for Academic Engagement.
The event once again provided current student-athletes with valuable guidance as they prepare for life after college, while offering alumni a meaningful opportunity to reconnect with the program and the Mercyhurst community.
The Lakers were proud to welcome back former men's basketball players Jim McElrath '80, Jerry Battle '94, Rahsaah Roland '96, Josh Helm '04, and Avi Fogel '07, who shared their career experiences, personal insights, and advice on topics such as leadership and teamwork both on and off the court, personal branding, and professional development.
Head coach Gary Manchel expressed his gratitude for the alumni's continued involvement, noting,
"It was fantastic having Jim, Jerry, Rahsaah, Josh, and Avi back on campus with our team. Their insight and energy made this mentoring night one of the most impactful yet. As we continue building our program's legacy, nights like this remind us how strong and connected the Mercyhurst basketball family really is."
