Princeton, NJ.- Mercyhurst wrapped up their time at the Princeton Invitational on Sunday. The Lakers were unable to grab a win as they fell to Harvard, Brown and Princeton. They have just two regular season games left before they make their way to the CWPA Championship weekend.
Â
How it Happened:
The weekend started with a matchup against Harvard.
Krista Domaracki got things going in the matchup as she netted the first the goal of the game. Harvard then went on a 10-0 run before
Grace Tirak finally got Mercyhurst on the board again. But the Lakers would only get on the board once more.
Eva Henneman scored to make it a 16-3 game, but Harvard scored four more times to secure a 20-3 win.
Â
The Lakers then took on Brown for the second time this season. This time around it was all Brown. The Lakers were held to just one goal in the matchup. Much like their first game, they found the back of the net first.
Freya Green scored her first goal of the weekend, but from there Brown scored 11 straight to take the 11-1 win.
Â
Against Princeton, the Lakers once again faced a flurry of shots and goals to start the game. The Tigers scored the first goals of the game before
Allie Dombkowski and
Marley Hanlon put in back-to-back goals. Hanlon scored again before half time, but the Lakers found themselves in a 10-3 hole at the half. Green scored their lone goal of the third period as the Tigers upped their lead to 13-4. Green, Hanlon and
Brean Jordan accounted for their final goals of the day in the 16-7 loss.
