3/23/2025 12:51:00 PM

Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 | Box Score 3 | Box Score 4 Ann Arbor, Mi.- Mercyhurst got back into competition this weekend with four games over three days. The Lakers kicked things off with a match against the host school, Michigan, on Friday before facing Bucknell and St. Francis Saturday and Pomona-Pitzer on Sunday. They were unable to grab win in their matchups.

How it Happened:
In the first game of the weekend, Wolverines came out looking dominant. They started the game on a 5-0 run in the first quarter. Molly Landridge finally got Mercyhurst on the board to open the second, but Michigan answered with three straight goals to make it 8-1. Krista Domaracki netted Mercyhurst's final goal of the game in closing stages of the second. From there, the Wolverines scored 10 straight to earn the 18-2 victory over Mercyhurst.

Saturday's action kicked off with a match against St. Francis. The first half was back and forth action between the two squads. Landridge kicked things off with the opening goal, but the Red Flash answered with a goal from Sam Eschleman just 13 seconds later. Caylah Olay gave them a brief lead before Victoria Mastrangelo tied things at two. Eschleman then broke the tie again for a span of 21 seconds. Grace Brzyski netted the tying goal and Mastrangelo scored her second of the first period to give Mercyhurst their second lead of the quarter. But St. Francis scored two unanswered to give themselves a 5-4 lead before the end of the first. Domaracki tied things at five in the second, but Olay retook the lead before the half. It was the first of five straight goals for SFU. Bri Allstun stopped the bleeding with back-to-back goals for the Lakers, but once again the Red Flash had an answer. In the closing stages of the game, Brzyski, Allstun and Mastrangelo all scored goals, but it wasn't enough in the 14-10 loss.

Against Bucknell, the Lakers once again saw themselves in an early deficit. The Bison opened up the game on a 5-1 run with their lone goal coming from Domaracki. In the second, Domaracki and Brzyski scored back-to-back to make it a 6-3 game. But nine straight Bucknell goals helped them to pull away. Landridge and Domaracki scored the final goals for Mercyhurst in the 16-5 loss.

Pomona-Pitzer was Mercyhurst's final opponent of the weekend as they looked to try and steal a win before their time in Michigan closed. But Pomona-Pitzer jumped out to a quick 5-2 lead. Grace Tirak and Domaracki scored the two goals of first quarter for Mercyhurst. The Sagehens then recorded three more goals before Olivia George and Domaracki made it an 8-4 game. Marley Hanlon scored her first goal of the weekend before Pomona-Pitzer ran away with things to secure a 14-5 win.

Next Game:
Mercyhurst will be back in action on Thursday night for their final match of the season against Augustana College (Il.). After that, they'll travel to Princeton for a trio of matchups.
