New Britain, Conn.- Mercyhurst wrapped up their three-game series in Connecticut with a 12-7 loss on Sunday afternoon. It was the first time that the Lakers have been swept in NEC play. The Lakers now sit at 3-6 in conference play.

How it Happened:
For the first time in the series, it was the Lakers who struck first. After
Chris Juchno walked and
Nick Jackson singled to begin the first, Juchno were driven in by
Jayden Walker, who's been hot the last two weekends. It gave Mercyhurst a quick 1-0 lead.
Landon DiBeradin added another with his own single to right field before the Blue Devils closed out the first inning. It didn't take long for CCSU to tie things up though. Chris Brown and Bo Yaworski hit back-to-back sacrifice flies to knot things up at two. The next run was also hit in by Yaworski who gave the Blue Devils a 3-2 lead on a fielder's choice in the third. The Lakers tied things up in the fifth after Jackson scored on a failed pickoff attempt. Central Connecticut was able to retake the lead for good in the bottom of the sixth when they had a five run outburst. Aidan Redahan kicked things off with a two RBI single and Antonio Ducatelli followed it up three batters later with an RBI single.
Ben Berdine then came into the game to replace
Dylan Skidmore, but the Blue Devils added two more runs before the Lakers got out of the inning. They added some insurance in the seventh after Yaworski and Ducatelli each added another RBI. Colby Brouillette and Gabe Pitts also drove in run each to cap off a four run inning. In the eighth,
Chandler Powell finally answered back for Mercyhurst. He hit a sac fly that drove in Walker. A
Ranciel Ventura double then set up another opportunity for the Lakers.
Casey Smith drove DiBeradin in with a single and Ventura was able to score on an E4. DiBeradin added one more run for Mercyhurst in ninth with a sac fly, but it was too little too late as the Blue Devils earned the series sweep.
