New Britain, Conn.- Mercyhurst fell in the first game of their three-game series against Central Connecticut 14-3. It's the second straight game that's only went seven innings for the Lakers. They now sit at 3-4 in conference play.

How it Happened:
Aidan Kelly took the mound for the Lakers and in the first inning the Blue Devils looked to have him out of the game early. Bo Yaworski got things going with a two RBI single and Colby Brouillette added another run before Kelly finally got out of the first inning. In the second, CCSU had another three runs cross the plate. This time it was off of just two hits, but they left the bases loaded as Mercyhurst got out of the jam with just a six run deficit. Kelly was finally replaced in the third after he allowed another two runs.
Brandon Arnold came in, but his fate was the same in the matchup. Arnold issued two free passes and a hit before he could record an out. At the end of the third, Mercyhurst was down 11-0. Aidan Redahan added one more in the fourth on a fielder's choice. Brouillette then homered in the bottom of the fifth before the Lakers finally got a run on the board. Joey Trivisonno hit a two RBI single, and
Eric Chorba followed it up with another RBI single. But they were the only three runs that the Lakers scored. The Blue Devils were able to the end the game in the seventh inning after they grabbed two more runs in the sixth.
