GENEVA, N.Y. - The Mercyhurst rowing team traveled to Geneva this weekend to compete in the Challenge on the Canal hosted by Hobart and William Smith Colleges.
First racing for the Lakers was the Women's 4+ coxed by
Ava Duarte. The boat, who also included
Amelia Stone,
Jordane Hynes,
Erica Schneiderman, and
Ella Luther came in with a time of 0:21:05.
The next entry to race for the Lakers was
Ralph Kasow IV rowing the Men's 1x. Kasow came in first with a time of 0:18:34.
Mercyhurst entered three boats into the Men's 2.
Isaac Feldmann and
Anthony DePinto came in fourth with a time of 0:18:34.
Levi Mathieson and
Shane Kelly came in sixth with a time of 0:18:50. Not far behind was
Liam Wise and
Oliver Stover coming in seventh with a time of 0:19:05.
The Lakers raced two crews in the Men's 4+. Crew A, coxed by
Dylan McLean came in third with a time of 0:16:14. The crew consisted of
Marko Dojcinovic,
Ilias Petalidis,
Tristian Chang and
Ivan Katic. Crew B, coxed by
Madie Taylor, came in fourth with a time of 0:16:32. The crew consisted of
Mateja Jelisavic,
Brayden Pinkham,
Bogdan Protic, and
Fintan Moore.
One crew raced for the Women's 8+. The crew included coxswain Duarte,
Thea Felsner,
Tabea Wieland,
Maryclare Parker-Stark,
Nayila Harris,
Meredith Fastinger, Stone, and
Cecilia Linkel. They finished in fourth with a time of 0:17:36.
Two crews raced in the Men's 8+. Crew A, coxed by McLean, finished in second with a time of 0:14:38. The crew consisted of Dojcinovic, Kasow, Katic, Petalidis, Jelisavic, Moore, and Protic.
The second Men's 8+ crew came in sixth, finishing with a time of 0:15:19. The crew consisted of coxswain Taylor and rowers Pinkham, Stover, Feldmann, Wise, DePinto, Mathieson,
Patrick DeAngelis, and Kelly.
They will compete in the Princeton Chase next week which will mark the final regatta of their fall season.
