Lewisburg, Pa. – The Mecyhurst men's water polo team continued Mid Atlantic Water Polo Conference play in a match against Bucknell. The Lakers fell to the Bisons, 21-9.
 
In the first quarter, the Bisons opened up with a 3-0 lead until Luke Larson got on the board for the Lakers. Bucknell continued to lead 5-1, until a late first quarter goal by Asher Jones narrowed the deficit to three for Mercyhurst, making it 5-2 in favor of the Bisons.
 
In the second quarter, Larson opened up the scoring for Mercyhurst, continuing to decrease Bucknell's lead 5-3. Bucknell added two more goals before Jones scored his second goal of the game, giving him yet another multi-goal game this season. The Bisons proceeded to score five more goals until Ben Gavran scored with less than 30 seconds remaining for the Lakers. Mercyhurst trailed 12-5 at halftime.
 
In the third quarter, Mercyhurst opened up with a goal from Declan Puacz. Bucknell continued to show their offense, scoring two more goals until Caden Stover scored to keep the deficit at 14-7. Bucknell responded to close out the quarter with a 15-7 lead.
 
In the fourth quarter, Bucknell scored three consecutive goals until Keller Sens scored for Mercyhurst. The Lakers continued to display their offense with another goal, this time coming from Aidan Ivory. The Bisons outscored the Lakers 6-2 in the quarter, to secure its 21-9 victory.
 
The Lakers will return to action on the road in a match against Mount St. Mary's (Md.) on Oct. 11 at 11:00 a.m.
