Erie, Pa.- The Mercyhurst Men's Water Polo team is getting ready for another road trip. This time to New York, where they'll play Fordham, Navy and Bucknell in WWPA matchups. The Lakers are coming off the heels of a three-win weekend.
 
Home Sweet Home
The Lakers returned home for the first time as a Division I team to compete in the Erie Invitational. Mercyhurst pulled out three wins with victories over Penn State Behrend, Wheaton College and Washington & Jefferson. 
Owen Hardner and 
Petar Vujovic have continued to be dominate for the Lakers on the offensive end. Mercyhurst will need some firepower as they walk into their first full weekend of Division I conference action.
 
Scouting Fordham
Fordham walks into the weekend sitting at 9-0 with four wins over ranked opponents. This past weekend, they ran through their opponents with a combined 92 goals over four games, including a 23-11 win over Salem, who is currently receiving votes. The Lakers will have a tough task ahead of them as they look to slow down Fordham.  
 
Scouting Navy 
Navy enters action with a 10-3 record and they're currently ranked No. 17. Their three losses have all came against ranked opponents, with the latest being a 19-14 loss to No.14 Harvard. This will be the first time the Lakers will face Navy this season.
 
Scouting Bucknell
Bucknell has a 5-6 record through the first few weeks of action. The schedule hasn't been kind to the Bison thus far as they've faced five ranked opponents, who account for five of their six losses. The Lakers will hope to take one from the Bison as they close out the weekend.
 
 
Next Game
Action will kick off Saturday, September 28
th at 6:00 p.m. when the Lakers do battle with Fordham. The Lakers will then finish the weekend with matches against Navy and Bucknell on Sunday.
