Erie, Pa.- Mercyhurst returned home to play in Erie for the first time as a Division I team. The Lakers had a strong outing in the Erie Invitational where they tallied three wins.
How it Happened
Mercyhurst returned home and in their first home Division I match where they faced Connecticut College. The Lakers dropped the match 16-15 in a close game. The match was the only game that the Lakers lost in the Invitational.

In their second game of the weekend, the Lakers had a strong 20-12 win over Penn State Behrend.
Owen Hardner and
Petar Vujovic each scored four goals in their win over their cross-town rival. Keller Sans also put four balls in the back of the net as they dominated the match. Before the match, the Lakers honored their three seniors,
JP Kirouac, Eric Fuhrman and
Tony Golin.

To start day two, Mercyhurst dominated Wheaton in a 27-9 win. The Lakers had six players record hat tricks in the game, including
Asher Jones, Sens and Hardner. To this point, the game has been the most complete performance the Lakers have had. 10 players put a point on the board in the game.

The Lakers closed the weekend out with a 12-7 win over Washington & Jefferson. Vujovic accounted for six of the Lakers 12 goals as they won their third straight match.
Nate Cheney recorded a hat trick for Mercyhurst as well.

The Lakers go back on the road where they'll start an 11-game road trip. Mercyhurst will play Fordham next Saturday, September 28
th and Navy on Sunday, September 29
th.
