Former Laker Standout, Maddie Elbro, Signs Professional Soccer Contract

Former Laker standout, Maddie Elbro, has signed a professional soccer contract with the Wolverhampton Wanderers Women FC.  

The Wolves Women FC play in the FA Women's National League Northern Premier Division, which is the third league/tier in women's soccer in England. The club last won the league in 2021-2022 and will aim to earn promotion into the Barclays Women's Championship (FA Women's second division/tier). Wolves Women FC is also eligible to compete in both the Women's FA Challenge Cup and the FA Women's National League Cup.  

The Kinver, UK product spent four seasons at Mercyhurst, solidifying herself as one of the premier goalkeepers in the league. As a Laker, Elbro earned the PSAC West Defensive Player of the Year Award in both 2021 and 2023. Elbro is also a two time All PSAC West 1st team selection.  

Being a two-time DPOY speaks volumes to a player's ability to shut down a game. In her Senior season, Elbro only allowed 13 goals in 21 games. Her 74 saves were good for a save percentage of 85%. Elbro posted 13 shutouts along the way.
