The Collegiate Rowing Coaches Association (CRCA) announced their selections for the Regional Staff of the year, along with the Coaches of the year, and Mercyhurst Rowing was highly represented.  

The CRCA honored the Laker staff and awarded them the East Region Staff of the Year award. Director of Rowing, Adrian Spracklen, was also named the Coach of the Year for the Region. 

The Lakers put together another stellar season on their way to a second-place finish in the national championships. All season long they proved to be one of the top crews in the country, getting stronger and stronger as the year went on. Really finding their stride in the latter half of the season, the team performed well in the national championship as they claimed silver for the sixth time in the program's history. 

This finish proves to be just another in a laundry list of accomplishments in Spracklen's career. Since taking the reins in 1992, Spracklen has been able to put together an illustrious career at the helm, being named the national coach of the year on four different occasions, with the most recent coming in 2022 as the Lakers claimed a Nation Championship.  

Spracklen has also helped 24 different rowers be named All-Americans while also taking his coaching prowess to the national stage in 2016, helping the Women's Russian Olympic Rowing team claim a pair of bronze medals.
