Pittsburgh, PA- Mercyhurst Women's Rowing is ready to begin their season as they compete in Head of the Ohio this Saturday, October 5th.
Laker Outlook
Mercyhurst Women's Rowing has been historically dominant and aims to continue this success as they kick off their season. The Lakers finished last season well, placing 2nd in the NCAA Women's Rowing Championship. This marked the third time over the last four years Mercyhurst placed either first or second in the NCAA Championship, claiming a National Championship in May of 2022. With many recent additions to the team, they hope to build on this success and start the season strong.

With former head rowing coach Adrian Spracklen accepting a head coaching position at Duke University, Jonathan Rost has stepped in to take charge as the new head rowing coach for the Lakers. Rost has spent seven years with the Mercyhurst Rowing program, and before that, was an assistant coach for the Men's Rowing team at Colgate University. Along with a new head coach, the Lakers have added six new faces to their roster. These freshmen include Thea Felsner, Nayila Harris, Julia Schultz, Madie Taylor, Mary Kate Trepanier, and Vanja Trninic.
