Gävle, Sweden. - Former Mercyhurst Women's Ice Hockey player Ena Nystrøm has signed a contract to play professional hockey for Brynäs IF of the SDHL.
Nystrøm played in 38 games for the Lakers this past season, posting a 20-16-1 record, a .928 save percentage, a 2.19 GAA, 1048 saves and six shutouts. Nystrøm posted a season-high 46 saves in a shutout win over Yale. She also had six games with 40+ saves.
In her career with the Lakers, she played in 104 games, posting a 52-39-3 record, a .929 save percentage, 2.13 GAA, 2,622 saves and 13 shutouts. In CHA history, she finished top ten in games played, career wins, career save percentage, career goals allowed average, saves, and shutouts. She is a 2x CHA Goaltender of the Year, 2x All-CHA First Team selection, and an All-CHA Second Team selection.
