GÄVLE, Sweden –
Ena Nystrøm and Brynäs IF competed in the Swedish Women's Hockey League (SDHL) Championship this past Friday. Brynäs defeated defending champions Frölunda HC 6-2 to secure the team's first title in program history.
Nystrøm has played in 16 games between the pipes for Brynäs this season and made one postseason appearance. She posted a 10-4-0 record, a goals allowed average of 1.39, and a save percentage of .937. She also recorded five shutouts.
In her rookie year, 2024-25, she played in 29 games with Brynäs. The Stavanger, Norway native had another winning record of 15-13-0, a goals allowed average of 2.44, and a save percentage of .917 with two shutouts. She appeared in nine postseason games this season, with a .926 save percentage and a goals allowed average of 2.09. Frölunda HC won the championship this year.
Nystrøm joined the Lakers her sophomore year in the 2020-21 after a season with RPI. In four seasons with Mercyhurst, she played in 104 games. She registered a goals allowed average of 2.13, a save percentage of .929, a record of 52-39-3, tallied 13 shutouts, and made a total of 2,622 saves.
