North Canton, OH. - The Mercyhurst Men's Lacrosse team extended its winning streak to three games with a 16-5 win over Walsh. The Lakers improved to 2-0 in GMAC play.
How it Happened
The Lakers took an early 3-0 lead on goals by Chase Petschke and Ethan Landymore. The Cavaliers answered with a goal of their own to make it 3-1. After the Lakers and Cavaliers traded goals, the Lakers ended the first quarter on a 3-0 run to take a 7-2 lead into the second quarter.
Only three goals were scored in the second quarter and all three were by the Lakers, two by Jeremi Phoenix-Lefebvre and one by Ethan Landymore. The Lakers took a 6-0 run into halftime.
Two more goals to begin the third quarter extended the Lakers run to 8-0. The Cavaliers ended the 8-0 run with a goal, but the Lakers held the Cavaliers to only three goals in the second half, while the Lakers added four more in the third quarter.
