Lakers Pick Up Win in GMAC Opener

Erie, PA - The Mercyhurst Men's Lacrosse team delivered a spectacular performance against Davis & Elkins College, securing a commanding 24-2 victory. This triumph at Saxon Stadium was not just a win but a showcase of the Lakers' depth of their roster. Almost every player contributed to the game, exemplifying a masterclass in teamwork and collective effort.

How it Happened

From the onset, Mercyhurst displayed an unmatched level of coordination and synergy. The scoring opened with Ethan Landymore, who, alongside Colin Tardif and Jaxon Mohawk, each netted three goals, demonstrating the offensive firepower of the Lakers. But the standout feature of this match was the widespread contribution across the team. Mason Blakeman and Darin Santos each added two goals, with numerous others on the roster also finding the back of the net. Braden Kerr and DJ Neer got their first collegiate career goals.

The game was a testament to the Lakers' ability to maintain a high level of play throughout the match, with an 11-goal onslaught in the first quarter setting the pace. Despite the scoring feats from individual players, it was the collective effort and the ability to get the majority of the team involved that truly defined the match. Davis & Elkins managed to score in the third and fourth quarters, but by then, the Lakers had firmly established their dominance.
