11/9/2024 4:47:00 PM

Box Score 1 New York, NY.- The Mercyhurst Men's Water Polo team closed out their time in New York with a pair of losses on Friday and Saturday. The Lakers fell to 7-23 on the year.

How it Happened:
The Lakers started the weekend with a game in Staten Island where they matched up with fellow NEC member, Wagner. Mercyhurst went down early as they went behind 9-3 in the first period. Junior Owen Hardner accounted for two of the three goals. Hardner finished with a team-high five goals as Mercyhurst struggled to find consistent play. Sophomore Asher Jones, Graduate Student Danilo Vujovic, Sophomore Keller Sens and Sophomore Ben Gavran each recored points in the effort, but Wagner's offense was too much to overcome as they defeated the Lakers 25-12.

Mercyhurst faced one of their toughest tests of the season as they played an undefeated Fordham. The Rams controlled the matchup like they have almost every other game they've played in 2024. Fordham took a 26-4 win over the Lakers. Senior Tony Golin recorded four saves in the match. Gavran scored twice in the game. Sens and Aidan Parrish accounted for the Lakers' other points in the game.
