Charleston, WV. - The Mercyhurst Men's and Women's Golf teams finished up the Charleston Invitational. The Men's team played at Berry Hills Country Club (par 70), and the Women's team played at Edgewood Country Club (par 71).
Evan Rowane led the way for the men, shooting a 72, 70, and 75, which tied him for 17th place overall. Rowane shot one under par on the front, and one over par on the back for his second round 70. Mac Dietrick shot an 80, 74, and a 71, which put him tied for 40th place. Dietrick shot even par on the front and one over par on the back for his final round 71. John White played as an individual, so his score didn't count for the overall team score. He shot 79, 73, and 80, which put him tied for 55th place. Tyler Thomas wasn't far behind with 79,76, and 78, putting him tied for 58th place. Darien Swanson finished in 73rd place, shooting 82, 78, and 80. Matthew Spadacini shot 83, 81, and 82, putting him tied for 81st place. The men finished the tournament in 12th place.
Kym Henry led the way for the women, shooting an 81 and a 77, as she finished tied for 24th. Henry shot three over par on the front, and three over par on the back for her second round 77. Isabella Walter wasn't far behind, shooting a 78, and an 82, which put her tied for 30th place. Lauren DeArment shot 79, 84. Lena Jones shot 84, 79. Sofia Carrizosa, who played as an individual, shot 82, 81. All three of them finished tied for 40th place. Alyssa Ballaro shot 82, 82, which was good for a tie for 44th place. The women finished the tournament in 7th place.
The Lakers will play in a tournament September 18-19 in Davis, WV at Canaan Valley Resort.
