JOHNSTOWN, Pa. – The Mercyhurst men's golf team rounded out play at the Red Flash Invitational. Freshman
Dan Gambone led the way for the Lakers, tying for 26
th.

Gambone got off to a hot start in the opening round, firing off a 1-under par 69. He made three birdies on the way out, finishing the front nine with a 2-under 33. The frosh posted a 74 in Monday's second round and a 72 in the final round Tuesday.
The team finished eighth in the 11 team field with scores of 290-288-290.

Peter Malo Jr. was consistent throughout the tournament, posting scores of 73-71-73. In his second round, Malo made an ace on the 205-yard par 3 fifth hole. He made two birdies along with the ace during his second round, but a bogey and two doubles kept him from reaching red figures. Malo finished tied for 35
th as he finished the tournament 7-over.

Barrett Paolini carded an even par 70 in Monday's second round, with two birdies, two bogeys, and 14 pars. His 70 was sandwiched between rounds of 75 and 73, earning the freshman a tied for 37
th finish.

Darien Swanson and
Matthew Spadacini rounded out the lineup for the Lakers.

Swanson posted rounds of 73-73-75 while Spadacini recorded scores of 79-76-72.
