Men's Golf Wraps Fall Season at Metropolitan Invitational

MONTCLAIR, N.J. – The Mercyhurst men's golf team posted a solid performance in their final fall event, finishing fourth in the 12 team field at the Metropolitan Intercollegiate Championship at Montclair Golf Club.
 
The team of Evan Rowane, Peter Malo Jr., Darien Swanson, Barrett Paolini, and Dan Gambone combined for team scores of 302-311 in the 36-hole event.
 
Rowane posted the low finish for the Lakers, carding rounds of 73 and 77. The graduate student posted three birdies in the opening round. In Tuesday's second round, Rowane posted a 7-over 77 with two birdies.
 
Malo finished 13th in the 64-person field with rounds of 78 and 74. Malo improved four strokes in the second round, with an eagle on the par 5 10th hole to play the back nine at even par 35.
 
Swanson and Paolini posted matching scores of 158 for the tournament. Swanson was consistent through the two-day event recording 79 in each round. Paolini posted a 77 on the first 18 and 81 on during the second round.
 
Rounding out the lineup for the Lakers was Dan Gambone. Gambone carded a 74 in the opening round with three birdies, before recording an 85 in round two.
 
Matthew Spadacini, Garrett Senfield, Robert Kozlowksi, RJ Delisnati, Enzo Clerici, and John White also competed on a team for the Lakers.
 
Spadacini had an excellent tournament, posting a top 10 finish. He matched Rowane's two-day total of 150 with rounds of 76 and 74. The senior made seven birdies over the 36-hole tournament.
 
Senfield earned a 25th place finish in the event. Senfield improved one stroke in the second round with a 78 after carding a 79 in round one.
 
Kozlowski carded rounds of 81-79, finishing tied for 40th with teammate White. White, playing as an individual, fired a 76 in Monday's opening round before carded an 84 in round two.
 
Delisanti (84-82) and Clerici (77-88) rounded out the lineup for the Lakers.
 
As a team, the second squad for Mercyhurst finished seventh in the 12 team field, with scores of 313-313.
