INSTITUTE, W.V. -The Mercyhurst Men's Tennis team took down the West Virginia State Yellow Jackets today, Feb. 25, 2023.
The team had a clean 4-0 sweep.
Ben Davis and Noha De Sousa Pereira finished first but could not capitalize on a win.  Hristo Plasheski and Lukas Cabue Valverde were the next off the court. They placed an intense set with the outcome in favor of the Lakers. Juan Carlos Hernandez Briones and Avik Agrawal secured the doubles point for the team going into a 7-6 set.Â
De Sousa Pereira was ready for redemption and swept the Yellow Jackets' player in two sets. Plasheski earned another point for the Lakers in his two-set victory. Caube Valverde secured the win with him easily topping West Virginia State. Hernandez Briones and Agrawal did not need to finish their matches.
