Women's Water Polo to Host Curtis Robinette Memorial

Erie, Pa – Mercyhurst Women's Water Polo is set to host the Curtiss Robinette Memorial Tournament this weekend, in honor of the longtime Lakers head coach who passed away in 2021 after a courageous battle with cancer.

The Curtis Robinette Memorial is going to take place in Hallman Aquatic Center in Erie, Pa. and promises to be a tribute to Coach Robinette's memory and work. He became just the second head coach in Mercyhurst water polo history in 2002 and spent nearly 20 seasons at the helm of the program. Known for his passion, dedication, and commitment to his players, he inspired countless young athletes to reach for their full potential, both on and off the pool.

Hanna Good leads the charge so far with six goals on the season, and she is followed by Sara Marin with five goals and two assists. Panna Mozbauer registered 23 saves and five steals in the goal for the Lakers.

The tournament is set to be a home opener for the Lakers, as they are scheduled to start it with a game against Iona on Saturday, February 18th at 9:00 a.m. They will follow that with a matchup against home-town rival Penn-State Behrend at 11:30 a.m. and finish the day with a game against La Salle at 3:00 p.m.  The Lakers are scheduled to return to the pool on Sunday, February 19th to take on Wittenberg at 8:00 a.m. and St. Francis-Brooklyn at 11:45 a.m.
