ERIE, Pa. - The Men's Tennis team took down the Tigers of Salem University today, Feb. 10, 2023.
The Lakers had a near sweep defeating Salem 6-1.
Doubles
Hristo Plasheski and Colm Schultz earned a 6-3 win. Two doubles, consisting of Noha Desousa and Ben Davis, defeated the Tigers in a quick 6-3 set. Lukas Caube and Juan Carlos Hernandez paired up to play the third spot. They secured the sweep, winning 6-2.
The Lakers were successful in earning the doubles point.
Order to finish: 3, 2, 1
Singles
Davis had 6-3 and 6-2 sets to claim a point.
De Sousa played the second spot, where he fell in three sets. The scores were 6-3, 5-7, and 3-6.
Plasheski earned the Lakers' third point with a domination of 6-3 and 6-4.
Schultz played four singles where he had a 6-1 and 6-1 win.
Caube had a shutout in the first set, 6-0. He followed by winning the second and the point, 6-1.
Hernandez rounded out the singles matches by earning the sixth point with two 6-0 shutouts.
Order to finish: 1, 2, 3, 4, 6, 5.
