Erie, Pa. - The Mercyhurst Women's Ice Hockey program is welcoming a new recruiting class for 2024-25 season. The new recruits have put pen to paper and signed the National Letters of Intent to play hockey for the Lakers next season.

The class includes seven players from six different countries. Coming to play inside the Mercyhurst Ice Center will be Magdalena Luggin (Vienna, Austria), Regina Metzler (Budapest, Hungary), Lexi Stanat (St. Thomas, Ontario), Julia Schalin (Espoo, Finland), Julia Perjus (Stockholm, Sweden), Avery Norman (Ottawa, Ontario), and Ashley Mandeville (Burrillville, Rhode Island).

Four of these players played for their country's national teams. Luggin played for the Austrian National team, Metzler played for the Hungarian National team, Schalin played for the Finish National team, and Perjus played for the Swedish U18 National team.

Head Coach Mike Sisti had this to say about the incoming recruiting class, "We are excited to welcome this recruiting class to our program. Trey and Tommaso did a great job with this group. I am proud of all the wonderful student-athletes we have brought to Mercyhurst over the last 25 years. My past and present staff and players have helped build our successful tradition. We are looking forward to working with this group next season and watching them grow and develop throughout their careers."

When this class gets to campus, they will look to find similar success like the 2023-24 class has found so far. The 2023-24 class has combined for 11 goals and 18 assists for 29 points in their first year with the Lakers.

Another stellar recruiting class has the Lakers' future looking very bright.
