SHEPHERDSTOWN, Wv. – The Mercyhurst Men's Tennis team was victorious on Friday afternoon at Shepherd University. The Lakers earned a perfect 7-0 team victory over the Rams..

In doubles action, Ben Davis and Noha De Sousa Pereira combined to win their pairs match by a 6-2 score, Hristo Plasheski and Morris Haab clinched the Lakers point earned in doubles with a 6-3 victory over their opponents.

In singles play, the Lakers took all five of the contests in straight sets. Davis won his No.1 singles match 6-2,6-3 while Milan Jankovic won his No.2 two singles match 7-6,6-1. The reigning PSAC Tennis Athlete of the Week De Sousa Pereira took his match by a 6-3,6-3 score, and Plasheski only dropped a single game defeating his opponent 6-1,6-0. Haab rounded out the action with a 6-0,6-2 victory.

The Lakers will be back on the courts next Friday, April 1st against West Virginia Wesleyan.
