Men’s Soccer Set for Pair of Non-Conference Games

ERIE, Pa. -- The Mercyhurst men's soccer team will play a pair of non-conference contests on Wednesday and Saturday.  

The Games 
The Lakers make the trip to Shepherd on Wednesday to take on the 1-2 Rams at 1 p.m. Mercyhurst returns home on Saturday to take on Salem University in a 3:30 p.m. kickoff. 

Osborne's First Win 
The last time out the Lakers earned a 4-2 victory over UDC handing head coach Ryan Osborne his first career victory. The Lakers got two goals each from Dylan Sumner and Nevado Elliott

The Series 
Against Shepherd, the Lakers are 2-0 with the most recent matchup being a 2-0 victory on Sept. 15 2011.  

Mercyhurst holds a 7-1 overall record against Salem University. The Lakers came out 2-1 winners when the squads last met in Oct. 2019. 

First Time for Everything 
Mercyhurst has had four different goal scorers on the season with each of Sydney Warden, Sean Kerrigan, Elliott and Sumner scoring their first goals as Lakers this season. 

Graduate transfer Jonathan Gomes picked up his first victory in net for the Lakers in the 4-2 win over UDC.
