Indianapolis, IN—The NCAA released their first regional rankings for the upcoming NCAA Regional Tournament. Mercyhurst was ranked seventh on the list. There will be five teams in the atlantic region, currently only one team has punched their ticket as West Virginia State won the Mountain East Conference. Teams that win their conference get an automatic bid to the tournament. In the PSAC either Seton Hill or Bloomsburg will clinch a spot this weekend as they are playing in the PSAC Finals. Seton Hill is ranked first, Millersville second, West Virginia State third, Charleston (WV) fourth, West Chester fifth, Bloomsburg sixth, and Mercyhurst seventh.

The Lakers saw their bid for the PSAC Championship end on Sunday at they fell to No. 7 Seton Hill. Mercyhurst defeated Cal in the first round of the PSAC playoffs last Wednesday to earn the right to play Seton Hill in the semifinals.

Mercyhurst has been in the Atlantic Regional each year they have had since 2014. This includes winning the Super Regional in 2018 and 2019 in which the Lakers made appearances in the Division II College World Series.
