Mercyhurst Announces Fan Policy For PSAC Baseball Playoffs

Erie, PA—Mercyhurst University has announced their fan policy for the upcoming Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference baseball playoffs that will take place at the Mercyhurst Baseball Field. The Lakers will host California (PA) in a single nine inning game on Wednesday in the quarterfinals. With a win against California (PA) there is a chance the Lakers will host the semi-finals and PSAC finals, the same policy will apply to both the semi-final and final.

For the first time since fans have been allowed at Mercyhurst baseball games, visiting spectators will be permitted into the Mercyhurst Baseball Field for Wednesday's contest.

Below is the fan policy:

·        All games will be held at the Mercyhurst Baseball Field at the site of Mercyhurst University. The address is 501 E. 38th St in Erie, PA 16546.

·        Masks must be worn at all times -indoors and outdoors – while on campus and at an off-campus MU athletic home competition site. Fans must also practice social distancing.

·        Visiting teams are permitted 75 tickets to use at their own discretion. Mercyhurst will handle staffing and dispersal of visiting team tickets. Visiting teams must submit their team's lists to Mercyhurst staff 24 hours prior to the game. Prior to arriving on campus, fans attending the game must fill out the Mercyhurst Guest Screening form, and put athletics@mercyhurst.edu as the email address of the person you are visiting: Mercyhurst.edu/guest. Fans must show their completed guest screening form to Mercyhurst Staff at the ticket table.

·        Families of each team's coaching staff may sit behind home plate.

·        Fans will be given a bracelet (or stamp) upon entry that that must show Mercyhurst staff when reentering the stadium.

·        All visitors are subject to bag checks by Mercyhurst Officials

·        No alcohol is permitted inside the Mercyhurst Baseball Field

·        No tailgating is allowed on the Mercyhurst campus

·        There will be no contact with student-athletes or mingling between student-athletes and team personnel before or after events.

·        Gates will open 60 minutes prior to the official game start time. Fans must leave immediately after the completion of the game.

·        Spectator seating is in the outfield. Fans can enter

·        Spectators will not be permitted into events without being on game spectator list.

·        Spectators sitting in bleachers will sit in designated areas that are marked for proper social distancing.

·        Spectators sitting in personal chairs must follow the family groups of 4 or less and social distance from other groups.

·        Families will be required to stay in their pods from other groups.

·        Concessions will not be available

·        Spectators will be required to vacate the facility within 15 minutes of the conclusion of the event.

·        Any spectator refusing to comply with these policies will be immediately removed from the facility or denied entry. This policy will be strictly enforced.

Additional Safety Measures

·        Signage will be placed throughout facilities encouraging social distancing and mask wearing.

·        Hand sanitizing stations and wipes will be placed throughout facilities.

·        Any high touch areas will be frequently cleaned before, during and after events.

·        Campus staff and administration will be on site to ensure safety measures are followed.
