ERIE, Pa. – The third-ranked Mercyhurst men's lacrosse team will begin a three-game week with a pair of home contests in about a 24 hour span as they welcome eighth-ranked Mercy College on Tuesday for a 12pm Top-10 battle, before hosting Great Midwest Athletic Conference foe Davis & Elkins College a day later at 2pm.

Schedule Outlook
After the two games on Tuesday and Wednesday the busy week will conclude with a conference contest versus Alderson Broaddus University at home with face-off set for 2pm.  The Lakers then head out on the road for the final time during the regular season with a date against Lake Erie College in Painesville a week from Saturday (4/24).
Kueber is Key
To say senior 
Caleb Kueber has been scalding hot this season is an understatement as he matched a career-high with ten points in the 19-7 win over Walsh on Saturday night thanks to five goals and five helpers on ten shots (seven on target).  So far on this homestand he has racked up an incredible 28 points paced by 15 goals on 28 shots (21 on goal).  He leads the Lakers in shots (63), points (55), shots on goal (51) and goals (34), while ranking second in assists handing out (21).

Mercyhurst continues to showoff their scoring depth as eight other players besides Kueber buried the rock on Saturday evening.  
Devin Pipher netted four, while the trio of 
Bryce Johnson,  
Ben Smith-Wilcox and 
Quinn Simonson each tallied twice.

Timothy McMullen all scored one time.  Kueber is at the top of the heap in goals for the season, followed by 14 each from Grenon, Johnson and Pipher.  Smith-Wilcox is also in double-digits with 11.

Pipher added four more assists to his ledger on Saturday versus the Cavaliers setting up Bartone, Kueber and Smith-Wilcox for finishes.  He now has a season total of 26 helpers which leads the Green and Blue, while his 40 points ranks him second on the squad.    
Dominance at the X
The group of 
Bo Columbus, 
Shawn Doran and 
Ryan Jobson continue to be a force at X for the Lakers generating extra possessions allowing the potent offense of the Hurst to go to work.  On Saturday, Doran went 12-15, while Columbus and Jobson along with 
Charles Greenlese went a combined 12-13.  Doran leads the team on the season going 105-150 (.700), followed by 22-33 (.667) for Columbus and 11-12 (.917) from Jobson.  The Green and Blue claimed 24 of the 28 faceoffs on Saturday.   
Strong in the Crease
Cole Pellicano has posted a 7-0 record in his time with the Lakers.  He is posting a .562 save percentage to go along with a 6.80 goals against average aided by his 50 saves on 161 shots faced in 344:16 minutes played.  
Jason Pawlak got six minutes versus Lake Erie and recorded one stop.  
Brendan Eyestone and 
Brett Olney have also seen time between the pipes this year.
Stat Pack
The Lakers carried the play on Saturday outshooting Walsh 53-26 and 35-14 on target.  Mercyhurst went a perfect 13-13 on clears, while holding the Cavaliers to just 16-24.  They also held a sizeable edge in ground balls (48-23). 
NCAA Leaders (as of games through 4/11/21)
Mercyhurst leads the country in assists per game (14.43).  The Green and Blue are second in points per game (33.86), shot percentage (.393), and scoring offense (19.43).  They sit third in scoring margin (12.71) and total assists (101).  The .678 win percentage at the X is good for fourth.  Individually, Kueber leads the country in points per game (7.86) and goals per game (4.86), while ranking fourth in assists per game (3.71).  Pipher is the second best assist man in the country handing out 3.71 helpers per game.  Defensively, Doran sits in sixth at the X with his .693 winning percentage and fourth in groundballs scooping up 11.14 per contest.  Between the pipes Pellicano's 6.80 goals against average leaves him fifth nationally.   
In the Stable (5-0, 1-0 ECC)
Mercy arrives in Erie with a busy week on the horizon taking on the third-ranked Lakers (Tuesday) and the 15
th-ranked Frostburg State University in conference action on Saturday at home.  The Mavericks have not played since March 28
th a dominating 15-2 win in non-conference play versus Wilmington University (Del).  Their leading point getters are Dominic Scorcia and Brady Kearnan who have combined for 26 goals and 25 assists.  Three other players have posted double-digit points as Jack Gibbons (18), TJ Heyder (11) and Tommy McPartland (10) all contribute to the Mercy attack.  Kearnan leads the team in scoring the rock with 15 markers, while Scorcia has notched 11, followed by nine each for Gibbons and Heyder.  At the X, Antonio Rey has put up an impressive 83 wins out of 100 tries for an .830 winning percentage which leads the nation.  He also has the team lead in ground balls picking up 51 so far this season.  The matchups to watch continue with a battle of the nation's top keepers as Tommy Umano and his nation leading 5.17 goals against average will be matched up against Pellicano.  As a team they average 15.4 goals, while allowing a miniscule 5.60.  Jordan Levine is in his ninth season leading the Mercy stable.
Scouting the Senators (1-3, 1-3 G-MAC)
Davis & Elkins comes to town on Wednesday for their first of two conference matchups on the week as they host Wheeling University on Saturday evening.  The Senators enter the game after picking up win number one on the season after knocking off Alderson Broaddus on Wednesday by a 14-11 final at home.  They have a pair of 19 point scorers in Tyler Kolodka and Nolan Morrison who have racked up a combined 23 goals and 15 helpers.  Bryce McBee has added six markers, while Zach Lontayao has chipped in four.  D&E has had a committee of faceoff takers so far led by a dozen wins for Sean Adams, while Jacob Makarenko and Brad Sisler have eight and six respectively.  In cage David Thorne Jr has been the man for the Seantors starting all four contests making 33 saves on 178 shots faced.  Evan Merrill is in his third season as the head coach.
