Erie, PA--Men's Mercyhurst Rowing Head Coach Adrian Spracken announced on Friday the captains for the upcoming season. Jakob Mathieu has been named the captain of the lightweight team while Zachary Porter has been named assistant captain. Kristian Trebilcock has been named the captain of the heavyweight team and Ethan Debasitis has been named the assistant captain of the heavyweight team.

Mathieu, a senior out of Vero Beach, Florida, has been with the Lakers for four years.  He has participated in the men's lightweight pairs and eights.  Mathieu is also strong in the classroom as he was selected as a scholar-athlete.

Porter, will take over as the assistant captain for the lightweight team in his second season from Buffalo, New York.  He will accompany Mathieu in the eight-man boat. 

Trebilcock, is from Cleveland, Ohio, and competes in the men's eight.  He has excelled in the classroom as well after being named a scholar-athlete back in 2019.

Debasitis, out of Farmington, New York, will hold the rank of assistant captain of the heavyweight team.
