Ithaca, N.Y.—The Mercyhurst Rowing teams closed out their fall season at the Cornell Autumn Classic on a high note.
The men's twos boat was the first Mercyhurst boat in the water and crossed the line with a time of 12:08.83 which was good for ninth in the opening race. Mercyhurst boats also finished in 12th and 13th.
The Mercyhurst women's twos boat was earned the first Laker victory of the day turning in a time of 13.12.87. The Lakers held the lead throughout the whole match.
The Men's fours earned the second win of the day as Mercyhurst boats finished in first and second with times of 11:37.49 and 11:44.26.
Women's fours were next in the water as they turned in a time of 14:05.80 which placed them fourth.
Both men's and women's fours were in the water, the men came in second with a time of 12:28.68 and the women crossed the line with a time of 13:19.89.
In Mercyhurst's final race the men's eights fell to just Cornell as they finished second with a time of 10:34.23 while the second boat came in seventh with a time of 11:02.76.
All three Laker rowing teams will be back in the water in the spring as the Women's Team will look to compete for a NCAA National Championship once again. The Men's Teams will compete for an IRA National Championship.
