David Akinpetide advanced to the quarterfinals of the PSAC Men's singles tournament on Saturday afternoon at the campus of Bloomsburg University.

Akinpetide began his day by sweeping Shepherd's Austin Cramer 6-0,6-0. The four seed then defeated Gustavo Martins of Edinboro, 6-1,6-3. Akinpetide will square off with the tournament's top seed in Carlos Martinez tomorrow.

Milan Jankovic and Hristo Plasheski were the other two competitors in the tournament for Mercyhurst. Jankovic won his opening round 6-0,6-2, however he fell in the second round to Ruben Acuna 5-7, 6-2, [10-7]. 

Plasheski dropped his opening round match up against Gustavo Martins of Edinboro.

In doubles action, the top seeded pair of Akinpetide/Jankovic were upset in the first round of the tournament to Edinboro's Palombarini/Sabio.
