ERIE, Pa. – The Mercyhurst men's tennis team hosted the Dukes of Duquesne as they honored their graduating seniors on Sunday. After a close conference win against LIU on Friday, the Lakers were looking to continue their momentum as a nice bookend to their weekend.

In singles competition, senior
Danylo Rekun took over the action on the first court, where he came away with a victory for the Lakers by scores of 6-4 and 6-3.
Lukas Cabue Valverde stormed back on the second court after falling behind 7-5. Cabue was able to string a pair of 7-5 victories in his final sets to earn the second Lakers singles win of the evening. On the third court,
Petar Belosevic fell in his matches 6-1 and 6-3.
Colm Schultz fell in a close 7-5 opening set and was unable to mount a comeback, falling 6-2. Mykhailo Polishchuck dominated on his court, winning both sets 6-1. Nikola Radisic rounded out the Lakers singles matches with a pair of wins coming at 6-3 and 7-5.

In doubles competition, the team of Belosevic and Schultz took on the Dukes on the first court, but fell 6-3. The second Laker team of Rekun and Cabue came away with a convincing 6-1 victory on the second court. The final Laker duo of Radisic and
Raul Davalos fell 6-2 on the third court.

The Lakers ultimately came away with an exciting 4-3 victory over the Dukes.

The Blue and Green will next travel to Olean, New York as they take on St. Bonaventure Tuesday, March 24. Start time set for 2:00 PM.
