ERIE, Pa. – The Mercyhurst men's tennis team hosted the LIU Sharks at Westwood Racquet Club on Friday. After coming away with their first conference win at Le Moyne on February 24, the Lakers were looking to continue their impressive play.

In singles competition,
Danylo Rekun opened the play for the Lakers on the first court where he was able to come away with a win in three sets by scores of 6-4, 4-6, and 7-5.
Lukas Cabue Valverde was on the second court and took his match to three sets as well, but ultimately fell 6-3 in the final sets after an impressive opening set win of 6-4.
Petar Belosevic fell in his first set 6-4 before storming back with a 6-2 win. His final set was retired at 5-4 with the win going to LIU.
Colm Schultz dominated in his match on the fourth court, coming away with a pair of 6-4 wins.
Mykhailo Polishchuk fell 6-4 in both sets of his match. Nikola Radisic rounded out singles competition for the Lakers as he came away with a pair of 6-3 wins.

In doubles competition, the team of Schultz and Belosevic came away with a convincing 6-4 win to get the momentum going for the Lakers. The second Laker squad of Rekun and Cabue also won their match 6-4 while the team Radisic and
Raul Davalos fell 6-2.

The Lakers overcame the Sharks by a score of 4-3.

The Blue and Green will next host the Dukes of Duquesne on Sunday, March 22 as they honor this year's seniors. Start time set for 3:00 PM.
