Women's Ice Hockey to Face Robert Morris in CHA Championship Game

The Mercyhurst women's ice hockey is set for the College Hockey America Tournament Championship game on March 7 at 4:00 p.m. against Robert Morris at the Lecom HarborCenter.

Last Time Out
Mercyhurst took down Penn State in the CHA Tournament Semifinals 4-1 on Friday.
 
Liliane Perreault had two goals while Alexa Vasko and Sarah Nelles had the other Laker goals. Jordan Mortlock had two assists while single assists were earned by Emma Nuutinen, Maggie Knott, Emily Pinto and Megan Korzack.
 
Kennedy Blair made 18 saves in net for the Lakers.
 
Previous Matchup
Mercyhurst and Robert Morris met four times this season with the Lakers coming out with a 2-1-1 record. Mercyhurst won 5-2 before falling 3-1 at Robert Morris in December. The Lakers then won 5-3 before tying 5-5 at the Mercyhurst Ice Center late in the season.

Mercyhurst leads the all-time series 47-15-4, including a 5-4-1 edge in the last ten contests. The two teams last met in the CHA Championship game during the 2017-18 season when the Lakers won 5-3.

Gebhard is ranked fourth in the nation with 1.77 points per game, second with 1.20 assists per game with 1.20 and first with four shorthanded goals.
 
Templeman is ranked 18th in the nation with 1.23 points per game and eighth with 0.91 assists per game.
 
Boyle is ranked 18th in the nation with 0.60 goals per game and tied for first with 13 power play goals.
 
Curlett is ranked second in the nation with 11 power play goals and fourth with 1.03 points per game as a defenseman.
 
Kirk is ranked ninth in the nation with a .674 winning percentage in net.
 
Robert Morris is ranked third in the nation and first in the CHA with 25.3 percent on the power play. The Colonials are 14th in the nation and second in the CHA on the penalty kill with 86.6 percent. Their combined special teams is seventh in the nation and first in the CHA at 54.7 percent.

Nuutinen is leading the team with 21 goals and 40 points. Dobson has 32 points while Isbell is leading the roster with 25 assists and she has 31 points. Knott has 28 points while Vasko has 27.
 
In net, Blair has a 15-8-3 with a 2.02 GAA and .919 save percentage. Jenna Silvonen has a 4-2-2 record with a 2.13 GAA and .913 save percentage. Leah Klassen has played in one game, making eight saves.

Nuutinen is ranked 13th in the nation with 0.64 goals per game and ranked 21st with 1.21 points per game. She is fourth with eight power play goals.
 
Isbell is ranked eighth in the nation with 0.91 points per game as a defenseman and 18thn with 0.74 assists per game.
 
Blair is ranked 11th in the nation with a .648 winning percentage in net.
 
Special Teams
The Lakers power play is ranked seventh in the nation and second in the CHA going 19.8 percent. The penalty kill is ranked 10th in the nation and first in the CHA with 88.6 percent. The Lakers combined special teams is 10th in the nation and second in the CHA at 54.1 percent.

Nuutinen tallied an assist during the Lakers 4-1 win over Penn State on Friday, reaching the 100-point mark as a Laker.
 
CHA Goalie of the Week
Blair was named the CHA Goaltender of the Week for the second straight week.
 
CHA Player of the Month
Dobson was named the CHA Player of the Month for the month of February where she tallied five goals and nine points.

CHA Banquet Awards
Nuutinen was named the CHA Player of the Year, Vasko was named the CHA Best Defensive Forward and head coach Mike Sisti was named the CHA Coach of the Year. Nuutinen and Robillard were named to the All-Conference First Team while Isbell and Knott were named to the Second-Team.

Undefeated Lakers
Mercyhurst finished the home schedule undefeated on home ice with a 12-0-4 record. This marks the first time since the 2008-09 season and the second time in program history that this achieve has been accomplished.
