ERIE, Pa . – The Mercyhurst women's water polo team defeated La Salle 12-7 before taking down Virginia Military Institute 12-10 during day two of the Lakers Invitational on Sunday.

Hanna Good and
Rachel Byrnes led the way for Mercyhurst with five points each. Good scored three goals and had two assists while Byrnes tallied one goal and four assists.
Rachel Morris scored two goals and one assists and
Maddie Nye picked up two goals. Single goals were credited to
Sara Marin,
Michaela Hershey,
Jennifer Moshinsky and
Lindsey Mizrahi.
Isabella Morris had one assist.

Rachel Morris and Good had three steals while Hershey and Moshinsky had two steals. Nye grabbed one.

In net,
Sarah O'Keefe made 11 saves.

For La Sallle, Sarah Defusco, Shanna Zuanich, Madison Martinez, Jillian Delisle and Casey Malone had points. In net, Caitlin Valentine made five saves before Emma Gurasich came in.

Mercyhurst had a 33-26 edge in shots. The Lakers went 3-for-8 on the power play and La Salle went 2-for-9.

Good led the way with four goals and one assist. Nye had two goals and one assist and Mizrahi had one goal and two assists. Hershey recorded one goal and one assist and Byrnes, Feldstein and
Ava Gebhardt had one goal each. Moshinsky picked up two assists and
Isabella Morris had one assist.

In net, O'Keefe made 15 saves for the Lakers.

For VMI, McKenna Imset, Genevieve Petrassi, Kiara Anguiano, Makenna Moore, Emma Noble and Emma Perez had points. In net, Bridget Highes made seven saves.

VMI outshot Mercyhurst 37-26. The Lakers went 2-for-6 on the power play while VMI went 3-for-6.
