ERIE, Pa – The Mercyhurst men's water polo team fell 18-12 to Mt. San Antonio on Friday during the first day of the Laker Invitational.
 
The Lakers are back in action Saturday at 9:30 a.m. against Washington & Jefferson.
 
Alex Cappuccio and Ryan Witoslawski scored four goals each while Cappuccio also tallied an assist. Mathieu Davis, Joel Parnell, Reed Bearden and Paul Goddard scored one goal each. Derek Kagen recorded three assists while single assists were credited to Cappuccio, Goddard, Jonathan Merkley and Nebyat Mamo.
 
Mercyhurst started Nash Greeven in net. He made two saves and a had one steal before Jacob Tanner came in and made five saves.
 
For Mt. San Antonio Ian Tauer led the way with four goals. Brandon Shew had three goals, Matthew Hinson, Kyle Green., Noah Brokaw and Dillion Mannion had two goal and single goals were given to Jarrett Wakefield and Brandon Knapp.
 
In net, Andres Madrigal-Mercado made six saves and had two steals.
