Box Score GREENSBURG, Pa. -- The seventh-ranked Mercyhurst men's lacrosse team defeated seventh-ranked Seton Hill, 14-10, in the GMAC Tournament final on Saturday. SHU was the top seed and host of the tournament while the Lakers were rated No. 2 in the conference. The teams are tied on the latest USILA poll.

KEY NUMBERS

• Nathan Grenon had four goals to lead the Lakers, including the first three scores of the game.
• Caleb Kueber added two goals while Benjamin Smith-Wilcox finished with a four-point game with one goal and three assists.
• Nicholas Bartone had one goal and two assists while Dom Perna tacked on one goal and one assist.
• Single goals were registered by Sam Crusha, Jarrett Cook, Dan Kritkausky, Devin Pipher and Jacob Emerson.
• Haden Bates and Tommy Angelicola picked up five and four groundballs, respectively.
• Winning goaltender Hunter Emerson recorded 11 saves and six GBs.

GAME SUMMARY

• After SHU opened with the game's first goal, Grenon sent home three straight scores to help the Lakers to a 3-1 edge.
• The Griffins pulled back into a tie before Mercyhurst regained the lead at 5-3 on goals by Crusha and Kueber.
• A 4-0 run put host SHU in the lead, but the Lakers had a two-goal response by Kueber and Bartone to forge a 7-7 halftime tie.
• The Griffins (12-4) grabbed leads of 8-7 and 9-8 in the third quarter, but each time, Mercyhurst had a response -- first by Cook and, then, by Grenon.
• Grenon's goal was the beginning of MU's 6-1 game-closing stretch. Jacob Emerson put Mercyhurst in the lead for good; insurance was provided by Smith-Wilcox, Kritkausky, Perna and Pipher. Those five goals were scored in a 6:59 stretch.
