2021 Season:
Started all 14 games for the Lakers, amassing two points with a goal along with an assist.  At the other end of the field he ranked third on the side in caused turnovers (14) and fourth in groundballs (32).  In three postseason games Bates totaled seven groundballs and forced four turnovers.  

2020 Season:
Appeared in and started all five games.  He ranked tied for fifth on the team in groundballs with 11, while forcing one turnover and giving out one assist.  

2019 Season:
Appeared in and started all 17 games. Offensively, he totaled three goals and three assists for six points. Bates racked up a team high in groundballs (61) and caused turnovers (19), while also winning 22 faceoffs. He put up season highs in faceoff wins and groundballs against Chestnut Hill (3/16).

2018 Season:
Played in four games and picked up three groundballs...made collegiate debut in 16-9 loss to the New York Institute of Technology (Feb. 10).

Prior to Mercyhurst: Was All-Section, All-Conference First Team, All-State First Team and All-American for Stillwater.
