ERIE, Pa.—The Mercyhurst baseball team will hit the road this weekend for an early season spring trip to North Carolina. On Thursday, the Lakers will take on Alderson Broaddus in a double header. Next, on Friday, MU will take on Ohio Dominican and to close the trip will play Saint Anselm on Saturday morning.

Going into North Carolina, the Lakers are currently on a two game winning streak after beating Glenville State in a double header taking game one 3-2 and the second 8-4.
Leading the Lakers
- Matthew Gibson leads the team in hits with six in just three games
- Dom Cecere leads the team in RBI tallying six
- Matthew Schneider has lone homerun for the Lakers which game in their first game of the season against Northwood
- Christian Young and Lucas Folmar each have picked up a win for MU
- Young has pitched 5.2 innings with six strikeouts and only allowed one earned run while Folmar has pitched 2.1 innings, stuck out three and has allowed one earned run
- Tyler Garbee has two saves for the Lakers in 4.2 innings pitched, no earned runs and leads the team in strikeouts with 10
Mercyhurst In the Polls
Heading into week three, the Lakers have moved up in the National NCBWA Poll to #18 after a 2-1 weekend at Glenville State. In the Perfect Game poll and the NCBWA Atlantic Region Poll, the Lakers remain in both spots heading to N.C. West Chester (3-0) remains at number one in the Atlantic Region Poll.
