POUGHKEEPSIE, N.Y. – The Mercyhurst women's water polo team fell 10-8 to La Salle and 15-6 to Marist during the first day of the Red Fox Invitational on Saturday.
 
The Lakers are back in action on Sunday at 8:15 a.m. and 11:15 a.m.
 
La Salle 10, Mercyhurst 8
Sarah Hershey scored three goals, Maddie Nye had two goals and single goals were credited to Mackenzie Ryburn and Rachel Byrne for Mercyhurst.
 
Madison Martinez, Sarah DeFusco, Madelyn Koerper and Katelynn Kubo recorded goals for La Salle.
 
Marist 15, Mercyhurst 6
Isabella Morris and Byrnes tallied two goals for Mercyhurst while Lindsey Mizrahi and Michaela Hershey recorded on goal each. Single assists were given Rachel Morris, Sarah Hershey and Ryburn for Mercyhurst.
 
Sarah O'Keefe made nine saves in net and had two steals.
 
Jocelyn Castro led the way for Marist with seven points. Grace Doerfler and Susan Cantoni had three points and Justine Castro, Ariana Singer, Katherine Tijerina, Carolyn Gauvin and Sawyer Alter had two points each. Aminadi Anorve, Bree Marmion and Lexi Puhl were credited with single assists for Marist.
 
Hope Vickers made nine saves in net for Marist.
