CLARION, Pa. -- The Mercyhurst football team makes the trip to Clarion for its final PSAC West contest of the season. Kick off is set for 12:06 p.m. at Memorial Stadium.

All-Purpose Back: Garrett Owens leads the Lakers rushing attack with 612 yards and 12 touchdowns He also has a team-high 28 catches for 307 yards and two scores. The Lakers are 2-0 in 2019 and 7-1 all-time when Owens surpasses 100 yards rushing.
Backfield Production: Mercyhurst has targeted their backs out in the passing game with four different backs catching at least 15 passes.
Jason Armstrong has hauled in 18 passes including a team-leading five touchdowns.
Records were Meant to be Broken: Senior quarterback
Doug Altavilla now holds both the Mercyhurst all-time passing and total offense records. Altavilla passed Matt Kissell to take the top spot on both lists. Altavilla became the first Laker ever to surpass 7,000 yards passing.
Clay's Big Game: Clay Waldron had one of the best games by a Mercyhurst wide reciever in recent memory. He hauled in four passes for 182 yards and one score. He averaged 30.3 yards per catch. The last Laker with more yards was
Stephen Yarbrough who had 238 yards against Cal U on Nov 8, 2014.
Working the Second Shift: The second quarter has been kind to the Lakers in 2019. Mercyhurst has outscored opponents 89-33 in the second.
Playing Behind the Line: The Mercyhurst front seven has consistently played behind the offensive line of scrimmage. Ayron Thompson has recorded 11.0 tackels for loss leading a Laker defense that has 56 stops behind the line for the season.
Corbin Kessler has also reached double-digit TFL with 10.
Scouting the Golden Eagles: Clarion comes into the game with a 3-6 record overall and 1-5 mark in conference play. The Golden Eagles allow 35.2 points while scoring 29.3. Mylique McGriff leads the rushing attack with 687 yards and six touchdowns. Jeff Clemens has 1,219 yards passing and 14 touchdowns. Kahliq Muhammad has led the receiving corps with 474 yards and seven scores. Sam Fareri has 67 total tackles 40 solo. Chris Gildea has 57 total stops. Corey Wells has recorded three interceptions.
